Under the sparkling crown of light, people browse joyfully for gifts at 200 wonderful stands. The large light animals of the traditional Essen Light Weeks make children's eyes light up. Take a ride on the Ferris wheel and look out over the city, gaze down at the many small lights of the market in the dark and smell the scent of roasted almonds in the air. It is not for nothing that Essen was voted Germany's "Best Christmas City" and 6th place in Europe on the "European Best Destinations" portal in 2022 and 2024.
