Christmas time is a time of lights. And here Essen is unique. It sparkles and glows on all the streets and squares of the city center. Trumpeting angels join starry arches and meridians, and illuminated real fir trees join artfully crafted LED trees. A net of thousands of lights covers Kennedy Square. Highlights this year - especially but not only for the little visitors - are the illuminated animals from all continents as well as also the popular teddy bear with a Christmas letterbox.
