You can look forward to a compact festival route of almost 2 kilometres in length between Willy-Brandt-Platz and Weberplatz. 16 different venues really do offer everything that makes a light festival: spectacular light shows and video mappings, projections and a wide variety of installations - by national and international artists.

Essen will shine brighter than ever as part of the IMAGINE PEACE Project — a European Union co-funded collaboration celebrating cultural diversity, peace, and sustainability across five European cities: Brixen Waterlight Festival, Essen Light Festival, Copenhagen Light Fest, Fjord Oslo and Visualia Festival Pula.
7 Artworks will be shown among the 5 European Light Festivals starting this September until April 2027.
