Declaration of Compliance
On 27 April 2016, the Essen City Council adopted the “Essen Code of Good Corporate Governance.” The Code is binding for the city-owned companies in which the city holds a majority stake; its application is recommended to the other companies in which the city has an interest.
As part of their annual financial statements, the Supervisory Board and management jointly explain any deviations from the recommendations of this Code, in particular, in a declaration of compliance based on Section 161 of the German Stock Corporation Act (AktG).
