If you’re travelling to Essen by motorhome and want to park centrally, you can do so now. Five motorhome pitches with a power supply station have been set up on Baedekerstraße (there is no water supply or waste disposal facility). You can park and stay overnight here for up to three days, for seven euros per day. Tickets are available from a parking ticket machine.

The new location is ideal for exploring the city of Essen, as a number of important institutions and attractions are within walking distance. These include Museum Folkwang, the Aalto-Theater and the pedestrian zone in the city centre.

Close to the city yet surrounded by greenery: enjoy a stay in your motorhome at Gesundheitspark Nienhausen, in the heart of the Ruhr region. The park connects the two Ruhr metropolises of Gelsenkirchen and Essen. Whether you’re heading to the Arena auf Schalke in Gelsenkirchen, the UNESCO World Heritage Site Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex in Essen or Starlight Express in Bochum, you’re just a short journey from anywhere in the Ruhr region.

An attractive motorhome site
The 32-hectare park invites you to explore its many amenities. You’ll find places to relax, opportunities to exercise and running trails. The newly built mini-golf course is perfect for a game or a leisurely break. Romantic, well-maintained cycle paths along the old ore railway line or the Route of Industrial Heritage let you explore the cities of the Ruhr region along “green routes”. The “Revierpark Nienhausen” stop on tram line 107 is at the park entrance. This line connects you to the city centres and cultural attractions in Essen and Gelsenkirchen.

The sauna and saltwater facilities at Gesundheitspark Nienhausen offer a year-round short break in any weather. Facilities include eleven saunas, a 35°C outdoor saltwater pool, an idyllic sauna garden, an outdoor and wave pool in summer, relaxing wellness treatments, dining and fitness facilities.
