Rüttenscheid
Where “just a quick visit” turns into a whole day
A coffee to ease into the day, a browse with no set plan, and suddenly it’s evening: In Rüttenscheid, Essen shows its liveliest side. Around Rüttenscheider Straße, affectionately known as the Rü, shopping, international cuisine and nightlife come together with the feeling of being welcome right in the heart of the neighborhood.
Stroll up and down the Rü, browse the shops and explore the little side streets, too. You might find a special gift, your new favorite café or a restaurant whose menu changes your evening plans on the spot. Here, you can window-shop, lose track of time with friends or consciously take some time for yourself.
And when your shopping bags are full and your coffee cups are empty, the day is far from over: Keep your Rüttenscheid day going over a meal together, a glass of wine or on the dance floor. Bring your curiosity – and a little time to linger.
