Tage der Überflieger
On June 20 and 21, 2026, Kennedyplatz in Essen’s city centre will be transformed into a spectacular open-air arena. Look forward to top athletes, first-class entertainment and thrilling competitions in high jump, long jump, triple jump and pole vault. And admission is free. An exciting supporting programme rounds off this thrilling sporting event.

Park Sounds
Pack your picnic blanket and head to Essen’s Stadtgarten. From June 22 to 26, the “Park Sounds” will be back. In collaboration with faculty and students from the Institute for Computer Music and Electronic Media (ICEM) at Folkwang University of the Arts, the Philharmonie Essen presents five evenings of electronic sounds. Speakers at several locations throughout Stadtgarten create an impressive surround-sound experience. Look forward to relaxing early summer evenings with original music in a laid-back atmosphere. And it’s all free of charge.
