Views of Essen

The best way to get an impression of how green Essen is today is to visit the “Essener Aussichten.”

As part of the 2017 European Green Capital project, steles were installed at more than 30 selected locations in Essen to mark particularly beautiful views. These viewpoints are not only ideal spots for taking in the sights of Essen; each one also has seating and a detailed description providing important information or even showing routes for hikers and cyclists.
