ETUF Tennis Facility

Anyone up for a game of tennis? There are few better clubs in Germany than ETUF Tennisanlage in Essen, with its 17 outdoor courts, two indoor tennis courts and a clubhouse overlooking beautiful Baldeneysee. Founded in 1900, the facility—made up mainly of clay courts—has nurtured many top players over the decades and hosted Germany’s highest-ranking ITF senior tournament for many years. For the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU Games, the 1,500-seat Centre Court is being modernised, and the entire venue is being made wheelchair accessible. When the sun shines on this little corner of the Ruhrgebiet, there’s no better place to play tennis.
