Freight trains once ran along these tracks. Today, the former marshalling yard on the border with Oberhausen is a green recreational area. At the 25-hectare Gleispark Frintrop, visitors can see how nature has reclaimed the site since it closed in 1987. Numerous animal and plant species have made their home here.
