Haus Scheppen

Haus Scheppen stands on the southern shore of Lake Baldeney in Essen’s Fischlaken district. It was formerly an aristocratic manor belonging to Werden Abbey.

Of the complex, first mentioned in the 13th century, only the ruins of the northwest and southeast wings remain today, along with the northeast wing, which is used as a restaurant. Especially during the warmer months, the car park in front of the building is a well-known biker meeting point throughout the region. Haus Scheppen is also a landing stage for the Weiße Flotte.
