Historic Monument Trail in Essen City Centre
How has the city developed over the past 1,000 years? And what traces has industrialisation left behind?
The Denkmalpfad, created by the Historical Association for the City and Abbey of Essen in cooperation with the City of Essen, provides the answers. A total of 35 information panels in central Essen vividly describe the fascinating architecture and history of many buildings, both those that have disappeared and those that still stand.
