Attraction
Historic town centre of Kettwig
Essen’s newest district was incorporated into the city in 1975. To this day, it has retained the character of an old small town, with its many half-timbered houses dating from the 17th to 19th centuries and its winding lanes. Many beautiful Rococo and Empire-style doors are also worth seeing.
The Heimat- und Verkehrsverein Kettwig e.V. offers special city, night watchman and sculpture park tours. The trained guides show registered groups the beautiful old town of Essen-Kettwig and a sculpture park unique in the region.
