Anyone wishing to enjoy a wonderful view across the entire Baldeneysee should visit the Korte Klippe viewpoint in the Heisingen district. It can only be reached on foot or by bicycle. It was named after Rudolf Korte, Essen’s director of horticulture, who is commemorated by a memorial stone. The cliff lies not far from Jagdhaus Schellenberg, at an elevation of around 144 metres above sea level. The BaldeneySteig runs below the steep slope: a circular hiking trail that loops around the hills of Baldeneysee over a distance of 26.7 kilometres. Korte Klippe is one of 31 viewpoints in the “Essener Aussichten” project.

Korte Klippe is in Essen’s Heisingen district, specifically along the route between Stadtwald and Heisingen. Korte Klippe on Baldeneysee can only be reached on foot or by bicycle. A short circular trail marked with an S leads from Heisinger Straße to Korte Klippe after around a five-minute walk.
