Old Catholic Peace Church

The Old Catholic Church of Peace in Essen city center, directly opposite the Old Synagogue, was designed by municipal building officer Albert Erbe and built between 1914 and 1916.

Exceptional features include the interior design by Jan Thorn Prikker, restored after its destruction during the Second World War, and the Art Nouveau altar by A.O. Holub.

or

Take any bus or tram (U-Bahn) line heading to Porscheplatz (e.g. lines 111, 106 or 107) to the next stop, “Rathaus”.

By car:
Leave any motorway at the exit for “Zentrum” (A 52: “Essen Süd / Essen Zentrum”) and head towards “City-Ring-Ost”. On the ring road, follow the lane for “Rathaus”.
