Kettwig Old Train Station

The tour of Kettwig’s historic old town can begin at the Old Railway Station (parking available), or alternatively at the town hall if you want to avoid the approximately 20-minute walk from there. There is also a bus connection between the station and the old town (routes 142 and 190). The Old Railway Station is the former reception building, inaugurated in 1873 and now a listed monument. The station once served the Düsseldorf–Kettwig–Kupferdreh line, established in 1872 by the Bergisch-Märkische Railway Company. Under the direction of the Bürgerinitiative Bahnhof Kettwig e.V., the building was gutted and renovated, and opened as a community, sports and cultural centre in 2003.
