Evangelical Church at Kettwig Market

The Evangelical Church on the Market Square was first documented in 1199 as St. Peter’s Church. The oldest part of the church is the tower, which dates from the early 13th century. The nave, which was largely destroyed by looting and arson in the 16th and 17th centuries, was rebuilt between 1719 and 1721 in the Bergisch Baroque style. Inside, the pulpit and the organ are particularly notable. The churchyard surrounding the church remained in use until 1823.
