Schloß Borbeck

Schloß Borbeck lies in the heart of a beautiful park, and its eventful thousand-year history is closely intertwined with Essen Abbey and the city of Essen.

In 1744 and 1764, Princess-Abbess Franziska Christine added Baroque elements to the Renaissance building. The City of Essen purchased it in 1941. Today, the palace is a place where people come together. Visitors can attend concerts, exhibitions, seminars and conferences, take part in art, dance and music courses, dine and even get married.

Then turn right onto “Frintroper Straße” (B231 towards Essen) and take the first left onto “Fürstenbergstraße”. At the end, turn left onto “Schloßstraße”.
